For youth/teens

Your student has a story.

Let's find the language for it.

For students standing at the edge of a major transition — and the families supporting them. This work is about identity and confidence, not applications and deadlines.

What We are — and are not

Inkwell Studio helps students understand who they are, reflect on their experiences, and develop the confidence to communicate their story with clarity and intention.

Because when a student knows how to talk about themselves— their growth, their challenges, their interests—everything else becomes stronger.

Essays become clearer. Interviews become easier. Opportunities feel less intimidating.

This is not about telling students what to say.

It’s about helping them trust that they already have something meaningful to say.

What we do is different.

Inkwell Studio is not a college admissions consulting service.

We do not provide college list development, application strategy, academic tutoring, or deadline management. Families seeking that level of support would benefit from working with a dedicated college counselor.

Our work is complementary—not a substitute.

Our Process

01 · Intake

We begin with a conversation involving both student and parent, understanding the transition ahead and what clarity is needed.

02 · Explore

Guided sessions help the student examine growth, resilience, values, and the experiences that have shaped them.

03 · Build

We develop the student's Story Portfolio — narratives they can use in essays, interviews, introductions, and more.

04 · Articulate

The student practices expressing their story in their own voice — not performed, not polished beyond recognition. Genuinely theirs.

This moment deserves more than a yearbook photo.

Senior year is one of the last times you'll be exactly this person — before the next chapter changes everything. These portraits are for that person.

Every Inkwell senior session begins with a brief conversation: who you are, what you love, and how you want to be seen. That conversation shapes everything — the locations, the energy, the images. The result isn't just a beautiful photo. It's an honest one.

The Hero’s Journey™ Summer Studio For Teens
$1,000.00

A 4-Week Storytelling Experience for College-Bound Students

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, July 6-July 31st, 2026, 9-12 PM (EST) Via Zoom

Strong students often struggle to talk about themselves.

They’ve done the work.
They’ve had meaningful experiences.
But when it’s time to write an essay or answer a question like “Tell me about yourself,” they freeze, second-guess, or undersell who they are.

Most programs focus on what to say.

We focus on helping students understand who they are, so they always know what to say.

What This Is

This is not a writing class.
It’s a storytelling studio.

The Hero’s Journey™ Summer Studio is a 4-week, small-group experience where students:

  • Reflect on their experiences and identify meaningful story moments

  • Learn how to talk about growth, challenges, and leadership with confidence

  • Build a collection of personal stories they can use across essays, interviews, and opportunities

  • Practice expressing themselves clearly—both in writing and out loud

By the end of the program, students don’t just have better writing—they have greater clarity and confidence in who they are.

How It Works

Duration: 4 weeks
Format: Live, online
Cohort Size: Maximum 5 students

Each session is intentionally structured:

First 45 Minutes: Instruction + Guided Writing

Students learn a focused storytelling concept and begin drafting immediately—with support.

Final 75 Minutes: Individual Coaching

Each student receives personalized, real-time feedback while continuing to write and reflect.

This balance of group learning and individual attention is what makes the experience so effective.

What Students Will Gain

By the end of the 4 weeks, students will have:

  • A Story Portfolio they can build on throughout high school

  • 3–5 developed personal stories

  • 5–10 additional story ideas

  • Clear language for their strengths, growth, and interests

  • Confidence speaking about themselves in interviews and conversations

These are skills that extend beyond college applications—into internships, leadership roles, and early career opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Take a look at the FAQ or reach out anytime.

  • Ideally, students begin this work at least a few months before any high-stakes deadlines — though it's valuable at any stage. The earlier, the more time to sit with the clarity that emerges.

  • Not at all. In fact, not knowing is often where the most interesting work begins. The process helps students discover direction — not confirm what they already know.

  • Essay coaches help students write better essays. We help students understand their story — and then the essays write themselves. It's a fundamentally different starting point.

  • No. Students navigating scholarship interviews, leadership applications, or any moment that requires self-articulation can benefit from this work.
